The Hoss Equine Team

Hello! We are Hoss Equine - proudly supporting our Equestrian Community in South Wales.

BETA Equestrian Retailer of the Year 2014 2015We exist solely to serve our community, helping you find the right products & solutions - so you can make the most of every minute with your horse.

Our crack team of Equine Specialists are BHS qualified, with real-world experience to share. But most importantly, we fill our team with lovely folk who WANT to help, and will always be pleased to see you!

(To see how we find our super team members, watch our latest recruitment video. As you'll see, we're rather picky about who we trust with our customers!)

And just so you know who you're chatting with, next time you're here...

Victoria Bertorelli
Store Manager and resident Showing Expert (pictured here at the 2014 Royal Welsh Show). After finishing Hartpury & her BHS exams, Vic worked on competition yards before joining our team, and working her way up to Store Manager. As well as keeping busy with many (many!) horses at home, Vic is an active member of Young Farmers & breeds her own flock of rare breed sheep.

Susanna Winstanley
Susanna has owned pony Kelly since she was 14 – when her parents made her dream come true! Last winter, with Kelly on DIY livery in Radyr, Susanna got the train from Cardiff every day – then cycling from the station to the yard – before heading back to work in Cardiff Bay. She truly is one of the most dedicated horse people we have ever known! Susanna joined us from the BBC, and as well as working on the VIP Club, is focussed on how we can make our services better & better.

Lauren Clark
Lauren joined us from Sunnybank EC – where she had been for 6 years, as Head Girl - and seems to know EVERYONE! With her strong BHS background & having worked with youngsters to veterans, hackers to super-fit competition horses & stallions, Lauren is massively knowledgeable. She is also one of the most smiley people we know – and always happy to have a chat, for you to pick her brains!

Samantha Wall
Sam is a keen dressage rider, particularly loves Welsh Cobs, and produces young horses – all with boundless energy! Having completed her BHS qualifications right up to BHSAI, she has a wealth
of knowledge & teaching experience to share. Sam is also hugely committed, having rescued 6 mountain ponies from a horribly uncertain future. After much hard work, all 6 are in loving homes & often seen out competing. We salute her!

Elinor Brewer
At 18, Elinor is our youngest team member – but the most compassionate & determined young person we have ever had the good fortune to know. She is currently studying for her BHS stages & Extended Diploma in Horse Management at Pencoed College. As well as working with her own 3 horses, Elinor plans to found a charity using horses as emotional therapy for young people facing challenges in their lives. And we KNOW she will achieve it!

Laura McDouall
Laura is the founder & driving force of Hoss Equine, & opened our first tiny store (for those of you who ever visited!) back in 2011. Her vision is very clear – to help as many riders as possible, and for you to have a brilliant experience every time. She has big, exciting plans for Hoss in 2015 (watch this space!). Laura is ably assisted by her beloved dog, Jess – and grabs every opportunity for long walks on the beach. She is also climbing Kilimanjaro in September 2015, to raise money for Wales Air Ambulance.

Jessica
Jess has been a key member of the Hoss team from the start. An expert in supervising behind the till, and sometimes welcoming you to the store with a woof, Jess is highly skilled in napping, finding dropped food & shredding cardboard. A rescue dog, she loves children but is (sadly) not always the most confident with people. However, a tasty snack will drastically increase your chances of being friends!
